FREELAND, MD - John E. Moore, 77, passed away Friday, February 16, 2018 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Frances A. (Messerman) Moore to whom he was married for 56 years. Born January 14, 1941 in Lewistown, PA, a son of the late John D. Moore and Meada Mae (Sherwood) Bingaman and stepson to Raymond H. Bingaman, he retired from the United States Coast Guard Yard in Curtis Bay, MD after 36 years of service. Mr. Moore was an avid model railroader and licensed ham radio operator. He was a member of Pennsylvania Railroad and Technical Society. John was a Baltimore sports fan rooting for the Colts and Orioles along with being a Penn State fan. Mr. Moore adored his grandchildren and loved nothing more than spending time with them and his family. In addition to his wife, Mr. Moore is survived by a son, John R. and wife Cindy Moore of Houston, TX; two daughters, Kathleen A. and husband Tim Ross of Stewartstown and Shannon J. and husband Jeff Mayhew of Towson, MD; nine grandchildren, Lauren Kate Radkiewicz and husband John Radkiewicz, Megan Ross, Carey Mayhew, Sean Moore, Rachel Mayhew, Angie Moore, Amanda Moore, Addie Ross and Ian Ross. A celebration of life tribute service will be announced at a later date. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.
