John E. Mcdonald

John E. McDonald, 88, of Springettsbury Twp., died at 9:00 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2007, at Pleasant Acres Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Edna M. (Keough) McDonald with whom he observed a 53rd wedding anniversary on October 9th. Following cremation, a private family memorial service will be held at Mr. McDonald's home. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements. Mr. McDonald was born November 16, 1918, in Brooklyn, NY. He was the son of the late Michael J. and Anna Irene (Stern) McDonald. He retired in 1982 as a buyer for Harley Davidson Motor Co. after 43 years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and served as a Machinist's Mate Third Class with the US Navy during World War II. In addition to his wife, Mr. McDonald also leaves his three sons, Kevin McDonald and wife, Louise Barrett, of Dallastown, Scott McDonald of York, Michael McDonald of York; two daughters, Helena Moscato and husband, Anthony, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, Patricia McDonald and husband, Paul Hamilton, of York; five grandchildren, Anthony Moscato, II, Rachele Moscato, Joshua McDonald, Ashley McDonald and Elizabeth McDonald; two great grandchildren, Anthony Moscato, III and Nicholas Taber; two sisters, Marion Allen, Groton, NY and Joan Davis, Statesville, NC; and nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 205, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
