MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP- John D'Ottavio, 60 of York, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2008 at his residence. He was the husband of Rita (Mitzel) D'Ottavio. The couple celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary on April 25, 2007. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Friday, January 18, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2935 Kingston Rd. in York. His pastor, Father Louis Petruha, OFM. Cap. and Father Daniel Mitzel will be officiating at the service. A viewing will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York, with the Northern York County Regional Police Honor Guard standing in repose. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery in York. Full Military Honors will be rendered by York County Veteran's Honor Guard. Mr. D'Ottavio was born in Philadelphia on March 5, 1947. He was a Financial Advisor with Janney Montgomery Scott of York. He was Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of Manchester Township and currently serving as Commissioner of Northern York County Regional Police. Mr. D'Ottavio was a member of St Joseph Catholic Church in York, a 1965 graduate of York Catholic High School, a member of Rotary Club in York and Outdoor Country Club in York. He was a US Air Force Veteran who served during the Vietnam War. Along with his wife, Rita, Mr. D'Ottavio leaves two sons: Chad D'Ottavio of York and John A. D'Ottavio and his wife Kriss Ann of York, and a grandson, Vincent John D'Ottavio. He also leaves his Father, Anthony D'Ottavio, two sisters: Noreen McKee and Christine Dugdell, and a brother, Anthony D'Ottavio. He was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine.
