YORK - John David and Julia Anena (Frisby) Goodman and their son, Langon Robert Goodman died Sunday morning, November 2, 2008 at their home. A Celebration of Life Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2008 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 839 W. Market St., York with the Rev. Kevin T. Shively, the Rev. Richard E. Jorgensen, Jr. and the Rev. Diane G. Wenthe officiating. A visitation with light refreshments will immediately follow the service in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be private. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Julia was born June 10, 1969, in York a daughter of Robert C. and Virginia (Koller) Frisby of York. John was born December 20, 1968, in Baltimore a son of Philip L. and Sharon K. (Barden) Goodman of Hanover. On January 13, 2006 they celebrated the birth of their son, Langon Robert. Julia was a 1987 graduate of West York Area Senior High School and in 1991 earned her Bachelor's of Science Degree in Geo-Environmental Science from Shippensburg University. She continued her education at Shippensburg and in 1993 received her Master's Degree. She went on to serve as the Assistant Zoning Officer for the City of York and later, West Manchester Twp. She had also been employed with CS Davidson in York and most recently worked with the Lancaster County Planning Commission. She was also a graduate of Leadership York and volunteered with the York Heritage Trust where she served as a Dosent at the Gates House and Plough Tavern. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. In addition to her parents, Julia leaves her brother, Robert W. Frisby and wife, Joanne of York; two sisters, Virginia "Ginger" Meisenhelder and husband, Dan of York, Christina Anthony and husband, Thomas of York; and 14 nieces and nephews. John was a 1987 graduate of South Western School District and in 1991 also earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Geo-Environmental Science from Shippensburg University. While in both high school and college, John was a member of the schools' swim team. He was a surveyor working with Gordon Brown Engineering and then LSC, Inc., in York and later with Strausser Engineering in Lancaster. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time on his family's farm. Along with his wife, he attended St. Matthew Lutheran Church. In addition to his parents and nieces and nephews, John leaves two sisters and his maternal grandmother. In addition to his grandparents, great grandmother, aunts, uncles and cousins, Langon also leaves his dog, Tika and his cat, Tearin. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 839 W. Market St., York, PA 17401 or to a charity of your choice.
