John D. 'Jack' Edwards

YORK – John D. “Jack” Edwards, 73, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at his home. He was the husband of Eileen M. (Simonaitis) Edwards to whom he was married for 49 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Rev. Dr. Ron Oelrich officiating. A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM – 12:00 Noon at the Funeral Chapel. Born September 29, 1940 in Syracuse, NY a son of the late Robert and Helen (Smithling) Edwards, he had attended Syracuse University. Mr. Edwards worked in sales for the plastics molding industry. He was a member of Wrightsville Rotary and St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Jack enjoyed golfing and RVing with his wife. Mr. Edwards also served with the United States National Guard. In addition to his wife, Mr. Edwards is survived by two sons, Christopher J. and wife Deb Edwards of York and Michael J. and wife Lisa Edwards of Taunton, Mass.; two daughters, Kimberly A. and husband Colin Samuelson of Pembroke, Mass. and Colleen C. and husband Dennis Swart of Bridgewater, Mass.; nine grandchildren, Rachel, Sarah, Jared, Ryan, Katie, Sydney, Riley, C.J., and Cory; two brothers, Donald Edwards of Hope Sound, FL and Mark Edwards of Royal Palm Beach, FL; five sisters, Joan Rhodes of San Ramon, CA, Gail Cunnion of Big Canoe, GA, Diane Minetto and Debbie Lerro both of Syracuse, and Kim Johnson of Alpharetta, GA. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Edwards, Jr., and Carl Edwards. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Drive, P.O.
