John C. Sweger, Jr.

STEELTON- John (Jackie) C. Sweger, Jr., 65, died on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at his daughter’s residence. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 12, 2021 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with Certified Celebrant Debe Snyder officiating. A visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. prior to the service. The tribute service will be livestreamed on HeffnerCare.com by searching John’s obituary. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. at East Harrisburg Cemetery, 2260 Herr St., Harrisburg. Born on January 14, 1956 in Harrisburg, he was a son of the late John Sweger, Sr. and Patricia Louise Handley. John was a sheet metal journeyman for McClure and a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 19. Mr. Sweger was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his friends at Stadium Club. Most importantly, he was a wonderful father, grandfather and brother. John is survived by his daughter, Lindsey Sweger and her fiancé, Gianni Giuffrida of York; son, Seth Sweger and his wife, Nicole of Schertz, TX; three grandchildren, Justin, Gabrielle and Jillian Giuffrida; three brothers, Jim, Danny and Ty Sweger; half-brother, Bryan Sweger; and half-sister, Tammy Sweger.
