BROGUE- John C. Manifold, 86, of Chanceford Township died Monday, January 11, 2016 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Mary Jane (Barnett) Manifold. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 15, 2016 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, with a viewing from 10-11 a.m. Certified Celebrant Betty Frey will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Round Hill Presbyterian Cemetery. Full military honors will be provided by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Manifold was born in High Rock on August 12, 1929, the son of the late William and Lulu (Wilson) Manifold. He was self employed as an excavating contractor and worked for various construction companies in the York and Lancaster areas. He retired as a Superintendent from Penn Dot in York County. Mr. Manifold was a member of Red Lion American Legion, Maryland and Pennsylvania Railroad Preservation Society, and was a member of F&AM Friendship Lodge 663 in Fawn Grove. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, and attending events at Steam-O-Rama. He served in the US Army. Mr. Manifold leaves two daughters, Teresa L. Hale and her partner Robert Forrest of Red Lion and Lisa A. Manifold of Red Lion; two grandchildren, Jessica N. Hancock and her husband James and Kristin R. Hale; two great grandchildren, Alicia Andrzejewski and Zaidee N. Hale; nieces and nephews, and his grand dog Buttercup. He was preceded in death by his sister, Leah Paules.
