John Allen Erdman

FELTON- John Allen Erdman, 82, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2015 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Marian M. (Montgomery) Erdman, to whom he was married 64 years. A public viewing will be held from 7-8 PM on Friday, November 27, 2015 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. Inurnment will be private at the convenience of the family. Mr. Erdman served our country during the Korean War in The United States Army. Born December 29, 1932 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, John was the son of the late John Baptist and Audrey Chalfont (Hall) Erdman. He worked as a systems operator for the National Security Agency from 1987 until his retirement in 2008. He was a member of the Selective Service and the American Legion. John enjoyed doing yardwork, reading about history and building model airplanes. In addition to his wife, Marian, Mr. Erdman is survived by two sons, David A. Erdman of Baltimore, MD, and Christopher C. Erdman of Nanticoke, PA; three grandchildren, Adrian, Roxanne and John; two great grandchildren, Gabriella and Issac; and two sisters, Audrey Wasserman of Houston, TX and Joan Kralicek of Phoenix, AZ. Along with his parents, John was preceded in death by two sisters, Jeanie Erdman and Margaret Erdman.
