SHREWSBURY- John A. Perras, 71, died Saturday, March 12, 2016 at his home. He was the husband of the late Patricia M. (Brown) Perras. Service are private at the convenience of the family. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Born August 1, 1944 in Syracuse, NY, he was the son of the late Frank and Flora (Utting) Perras. John was a communication specialist at Aberdeen Proving Ground until his retirement on September 30, 2001. Mr. Perras served our country for four years in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Perras was a member of American Legion Post #403 in Glen Rock and the New Freedom VFW #7012. He was a former member of the Shrewsbury Volunteer Fire Company Station 61. Mr. Perras leaves a son, James Perras and his companion Maryann Henderson of Sayre; two daughters Lisa and Lori Perras, both of Shrewsbury; two step-grandchildren Katie and Jennifer Henderson; one step-great grandson James Henderson; and a sister Madaline Weber of Tomball, TX.
