POTTSVILLE- Joel F. “Bo” Hoepstine, Sr., 73, of Pottsville passed away Friday, June 22, 2012 surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Anna Marie (Yenfer) Hoepstine who passed away on January 11, 1999. The couple had 38 years of marriage. Bo was born on July 16, 1938 in Pottsville, son of the late Luther and Margaret (Fischer) Hoepstine. Bo served his country in the Army National Guard. In 2000 he retired from the Yuengling Brewery after 38 years of service. Bo enjoyed watching his grandson play high school sports and spending time with his canine companion Lola. He was a life member of the American Hose Company in Pottsville. Bo is survived by his son Joel F. Hoepstine, Jr. of Cardiff, Wales and his daughter Ann M. (Brian) Blankenhorn of Pottsville, his grandchildren: Kinley, Kedron, Cody, and Travis, his brother Arlan (Laura) Hoepstine of Hamburg, PA, his sister Mary Jane Kalbach of Pottsville, along with several nieces and nephews. Bo was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Anna Marie, and his son Christopher Hoepstine who passed away in 1977. Family and friends may call on Sunday evening, July 1, 2012 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again from 9:00 until 10:00 A.M. on Monday, July 2nd at Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., 6th & West Market Streets, Garfield Square, Pottsville. The funeral service to honor Bo’s life will be held 10:00 A.M. following the viewing on July 2nd at the funeral home with Rev. David J. Loeper of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Calvary Cemetery.
