Joanne Powell

YORK – JoAnne (Tracey) Powell, 76, passed away Friday, July 8, 2022 at her home. She was the wife of Vincent G. Powell to whom she was married 54 years. A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York. A visitation will be held from 1-2:00 PM Saturday at the Funeral Chapel. Born January 25, 1946 in Baltimore, a daughter of the late James H. and Mary Catherine (Turner) Tracey; she was a 1964 graduate of Woodlawn High School, Woodlawn, MD. Mrs. Powell retired from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services after 30 years of service. She enjoyed watching the Orioles and Ravens, going on cruises and to the casinos with her husband, but she loved nothing more than spending time with her family. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Powell is survived by a son, Vincent and wife Melissa Powell of Stewartstown; two grandsons, Alex and Michael Powell; two sisters, Sharon Hooper-Holtz of Maryland and Carilee Streett of Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and James Tracey; and two sisters, Gina Woolfson and Mary Catherine Morrison.
