Joanne M. "Jodi" (Patraw) Archer

YORK- Joanne M. “Jodi” (Patraw) Archer, 61, passed away July 16th at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of Gerald B. Archer. They were together for 44 years and celebrated their anniversary on July 2nd. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM, July 28th at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Donna Hildebrand officiating. A visitation will be held at 9:00 AM before the memorial service at the Funeral Chapel. Jodi was born on August 25, 1956 in Potsdam, NY, daughter of Eugene Patraw of York and the late Anne (Baker) Patraw. She had worked for Danskin for more than 20 years and West York Pharmacy for five years. She also enjoyed quilting, gardening, crafts, reading and traveling. But more than anything, Jodi loved spending time with her family. She was a wonderful wife and devoted mother. She was always a caring and giving person. Many of her younger family and friends considered “Mama Jo” their second mother. In addition to her husband and father, Mrs. Archer is survived by her son, Michael A. Archer of York; her daughter, Carrie A. Spina of York; three brothers, Glenn and wife Ellen Patraw of Nashville, Patrick and wife Martha O’Hara of Albemarle, NC and Martin O’Hara of Ft. Worth, TX; three sisters, Katy and husband Jerry Neild of Dallas, TX, Bonnie and husband Michael Hoover of York and Debra and husband Jerry Baker of Watertown, NY; her beloved beagle “Becca”; and her adopted mother, Sandra Newman of York.
