Joanne (Gibney) Shindel

ETTERS-Joanne (Gibney) Shindel, 79, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence, Harrisburg. She was the loving wife of the late John L. Shindel, Jr. A celebration of life service will be 11:00 am Monday, November 1, 2010 at Beaver-Urich Funeral Home, 305 West Front Street, Lewisberry, with pastor, Dennis Huratiak officiating. A viewing will be held from 10-11:00 am Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Rolling Green Cemetery. Mrs. Shindel was born August 3, 1931 in Enola, a daughter of the late John Walter and Barbara Julia (Kraft) Gibney. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and playing card and board games. Mrs. Shindel is survived by three daughter, Barbara L. Kennedy of Etters, Gwen G. Stowits of Waverly, NY, and Darryl K. Crescenzi and husband, Paul A. of Oak Ridge, TN; five grandchildren, Fawne Reigel and husband, Charlie, Merle Wells and wife, Brandy, Heather Reyes and husband, Rene, Andrew Bass, and Matthew Crescenzi; eight great grandchildren; a sister Doris Davidson; brother in law, Kermit Warner; several nieces and nephews; and her loving dog, Alex and cat, Sarah. She was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Irvin Gibney; and two sisters, Betty Warner and Vivian Stoner. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
