Joanna W. Smith

JoAnna W. (Floyd) Smith, 74, of York passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Frederick P. Smith to whom she was married for 23 years. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 1551 Kenneth Road in York is in charge of arrangements. Born January 8, 1942 in York, she was the daughter of the late Edwin F. and Evelyn R. (Warner) Floyd. Until retirement, JoAnna worked as a retail sales manager. She loved spending time with her family, reading, Sudoku, crossword puzzles, and playing Pinochle at card clubs. She is survived by two sons, Bruce E. Hartwell and wife, Mary J. of York, and Kevin E. Hartwell of Dallastown; two daughters, Deborah A. Hartwell of Allen, Texas, and Christine A. Pfleiger and husband, Brett A. of Dover; six grandchildren, Eric E. Hartwell, Matthew J. Hartwell, Megan C. Garbacik, Carrie O. Pfleiger, Taylor N. Hartwell, and Nicholas A. Hartwell; three great-grandchildren, Brooke L. Hartwell, Kendall A. Garbacik, and a baby on the way; and one sister, Judith M. Myers and husband, Gary of York. In addition to her beloved husband, JoAnna was preceded in death by her son, Harry E.
