Joann P. Thomas

YORK - Joann P. Thomas, 98, formerly of Bellevue (Pittsburgh), peacefully passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Inners Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was the loving wife of the late Jack E. Thomas.

Born in Connellsville, PA, Joann was a daughter of the late Correll Joseph and Florence (Rowan) Poole. Joann was a stay-at-home mother, and spent her free time bowling in different leagues, taking daily walks with the neighborhood ladies, reading, quilting, playing scrabble and doing crossword puzzles.

Joann is survived by her four children, Nancy Murray and her husband Ralph of Baltimore, Jeffrey Thomas and his wife Silvia of York, Beth Craig and her husband Carl of Somers, CT, and Steven Thomas of York; she was also blessed with seven grandchildren, Scott Murray, Matthew Murray, Robyn Buckheit, Lee Evan Margolies, Graham Thomas, Lauren Maranda, and Kevin Craig; and eight great grandchildren.

A private burial will be held at Greenmount Cemetery, and a Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.

The family would like to thank the people at Celebration Villa, and White Rose Hospice for their endless care and support over the past several years, and more recently, Inners Creek Nursing Facility in Dallastown.
