Joann M. Artz

POTTSVILLE - Joann M. Artz, 76, of Pottsville, died Tuesday morning at the Schuylkill Medical Center South Jackson. Born in Pottsville on May 15, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Lorene Glenn Davis. Joann attended Pottsville High School. For 32 years she was married to the late Harold R. Artz, who died May 23, 1987. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. Surviving Joann are: a son Patrick Shay; a daughter Lori Klare; 10 grandchildren, great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Lou Torpey and Dorothy Manion; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by: a brother, Norman Davis; a son, Eric Artz; a daughter, Brooke Ann Billman; a grandson Devon Artz. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday at 10 AM at the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 6th & W. Market St., Pottsville. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Joann’s name to the American Cancer Society, 16 N 4th St., Minersville, PA 17954.
