Joan R. Hoskin

YORK – Joan R. (Newhouse) Hoskin, 80, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 at her home. She was the wife of the late Donald D. Hoskin. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Certified Celebrant Betty Frey officiating. A viewing will be held from 9-10:00 AM Wednesday at the Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in St. Paul’s (Wolf’s) Union Cemetery. Born August 4, 1937 in Norristown, PA; a daughter of the late Edward and Vada (Gibby) Newhouse, she was a 1955 graduate of West York Area High School. Mrs. Hoskin retired from York Graphic Services and worked at Briarwood Golf Course in retirement. She was a life member of West York VFW Auxiliary Post 8951. Mrs. Hoskin is survived by a son, Terry E. and wife Lori Hoskin of Dover; a daughter, Barbara J. and husband Joseph Eline of York; three grandchildren, Emily J. and Benjamin E. Hoskin and Ellen E. Eline; one great granddaughter, Adaline A. Smith; and two brothers, John C. Newhouse and Joseph R. Newhouse both of West York. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Norman Cecil Newhouse, Robert and David Newhouse; and two sisters, Margaret Luckenbaugh and Doris Cole.
