Joan M. Myers

YORK- Joan M. (Klepper) Myers, 85 of North Codorus Township passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at York Hospital. She was the wife of Robert W. Myers, Sr. With whom they would have celebrated their Wedding Anniversary 60th on October 11, 2018. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 839 W. Market Street in York, with a visitation from 10-11 a.m. at the church. The Reverend Keith C. Fair will be officiating at the service. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is in charge of the arrangements. Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 28, 2018 in Prospect Hill Cemetery in York. Mrs. Myers was born in York on February 24, 1933, the daughter of the late Edward J. and Pauline M. (Pittenger) Klepper. She worked for Dentsply, York Hoover Casket and retired from St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Mrs. Myers was a lifelong member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Young Adults Bible Class (Class#5), Half Century, and Altar Guild. She enjoyed attending church activities including Camp Nawakwa Retreat. She was on the first ladies bowling team at the church, enjoyed helping with Vacation Bible School and was a kitchen helper for special events. She was a member of York Hoover Retiree’s. She enjoyed attending her granddaughters’ events including softball, musicals, performances, as well as family picnics. Mrs. Myers leaves two sons, Robert W. Myers, Jr. of York and John E, Myers and his wife Faith Uhler-Myers of York; a daughter, Stephanie A. Myers of York; two granddaughters, Laura and Liza Myers; a sister, Virginia Stough of Red Lion, an aunt Ethel Peters; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
