Joan M. (Meckly) Mcdonald-Dallimore

POTTSVILLE - Joan M. Meckly McDonald Dallimore, 73, of Pottsville, died Thursday afternoon at her home. Born in Lewisburg on February 4, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Robert W. Meckly Sr., and Nina Mae Fisher Meckly. Joan graduated from Lewisburg High School in 1956. Until retiring in 1999, she was employed by Sears. On June 7, 2008 she married Henry S. Dallimore, Pottsville. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Port Carbon. Joanie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved working in her garden. Surviving Joan in addition to her husband are: a daughter, Linda McDonald White and her husband Robert G., Breinigsville; two sons, James M. McDonald and his wife Nancy, New Philadelphia, and Robert W. McDonald and his wife Gina, Millersburg; a brother Robert W. Meckly, Jr., Lewisburg; two grandchildren, James C. McDonald, Breinigsville and Kaitlyn McDonald, New Philadelphia; and two nephews. A memorial service will be held on Monday morning at 11 AM from the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., 6th & W. Market St., Pottsville, with the Reverend Lorraine Heckman officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 10 until time of service. Interment will be in Charles Baber Cemetery.
