Joan L. Knowlton

POTTSVILLE - Joan L. Knowlton, 84, of Pottsville, died Monday morning at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg. Born in Pottsville on April 5, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Mildred (Booth) Knowlton. She was a 1942 graduate of Shamokin High School. She was formerly employed by Alcoa. From 1944-1947 she served her country in the Navy. She was a former member of the First United Methodist Church, Pottsville. Joan was an avid bowler. She bowled in the Roxy Bowling League. She traveled the country playing in bowling tournaments. Surviving Joan are: a brother Richard and his wife Jini Knowlton, of Stratford, NJ; a sister, Elaine Croasdale, of Toms River, NJ; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Friday, with the Reverend Brian Reading officiating. Family and friends may call from the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Inc. 6th & W. Market St., Pottsville on Friday from noon until time of service. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
