Joan C. Watson

RED LION, PA - Joan C. (Pettigrew) Watson, 88, formerly of Fairmont, WV; passed away Friday, August 7, 2020 at Normandie Ridge. She was the wife of the late James D. Watson to whom she was married for 63 years. Born October 15, 1931 in Fairmont, a daughter of the late Earl and Fannie (Friend) Pettigrew, she was a graduate of East Fairmont High School. She loved watching classic movies, listening to classical piano music and was a West Virginia Mountaineer football fan. Mrs. Watson is survived by her daughter, Beth Sly and husband Robert of Red Lion. She was preceded in death by a son, Kip Watson; five brothers, Branty, Don, Dick and Harry Pettigrew, Ken Given; and three sisters, Grace Satterfield, Jean Bunner and Thelma Linn. Services will be private with burial in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Fairmont. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.
