YORK – Jimmy Lee Hawthorne, 72, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at his home. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Mount Rose Cemetery, 1502 Mount Rose Avenue, York with Craig Hawthorne officiating the service. Friends and family will meet just inside the Mt. Rose Ave. entrance of the cemetery at 11:15 AM. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Born March 24, 1949 in Georgiana, AL; a son of the late Jessie and Veora (Coleman) Hawthorne, he had retired from Martin’s Snacks. Jimmy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends at gatherings, watching sports and rooting on the Pittsburgh Steelers. Mr. Hawthorne is survived by a son, Harold F. and wife Amira Hawthorne of Aberdeen, MD; four grandchildren, Ashley Hawthorne, Jevon Berry, Maurice Hawthorne and Alexis Hawthorne; three great grandchildren; a brother, Henry Hawthorne of Georgiana; a sister, Thera Coleman of Aberdeen; and a host of relatives.
