Jewell Marie (Cheek) Walker

YORK – Jewell Marie (Cheek) Walker, 83, passed away Friday, November 11, 2011 at Manor Care – South. She was the wife of the late Joseph Kent Walker to whom she had been married 63 years on February 7, 2011. Funeral services and burial will be private at Gunpowder Baptist Cemetery, Freeland, MD. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Walker was born September 10, 1928 in Ashe County, NC; a daughter of the late Andrew M. and Celia K. (Blackburn) Cheek. She retired from Wolfgang Candy Co. and was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Walker is survived by three sons, Spencer and wife Phyllis Walker of York, Scottie and wife Ellen Walker of Greenville, Mercer Co., and Jody and wife Rebecca Walker of Covington, LA; and two grandchildren, Catherine and Sydney Walker.
