Jessie Mabel (Story) Story

YORK - Jessie Mabel (Story) Story, 94, died Sunday, December 28, 2008 at York Lutheran Nursing Home on Sprenkle Drive. She was the wife of the late Ralph Dillard Story with whom she was married to for 37 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, January 2, 2009 at Zion Lutheran Church, 2215 Brandywine Lane, York, with her pastor, the Rev. Janyce Jorgensen officiating. A viewing will be from 1-2:00 PM Friday at the Church. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Story was born May 9, 1914 in Boone, NC, the daughter of the late Thomas Monroe and Nelia (Greene) Story. She was a former employee of El-Ge Potato Chip Company for 25 years until her retirement in 1979. She enjoyed playing Scrabble and was an avid reader of murder mysteries. Mrs. Story is survived by two daughters, Kay Lynn Riley and husband Robert E. of Spring Grove, and Elaine M. Smyser of York; seven grandchildren, Karen Wood, Christian Riley, Roberta Myers, Lori J. Miller, Lizabeth S. Hax, Thaddeus C. Smyser, and Carol Wildasin; 14 great grandchildren, Jakob and Thomas C. Smyser, Karsen Grace Story Hax, Wyatt C. and Dwayne J. Hax, Jr., Kacie E. and Jason P. Miller, Amber and Autumn Myers, Lawren and Cindi Wood, and Darin, Derek, and Kelly Wildasin; a sister Sylvia Hoyle; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Marion and Roy Story, and a sister Mae Pipes.
