WEST YORK BORO- Jessie Fay (Mansberger) Hoke, 97, of York, died Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Clair Leroy Hoke. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 10, 2012 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 839 West Market Street in York, with a viewing from 10-11 a.m. The Reverend Diane G. Wenthe will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery in York. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Hoke was born in Windsor Park, PA on December 11, 1914, daughter of the late Jess and Carrie M. (Grove) Mansberger. Mrs. Hoke was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in York, where she was a member of the Half Century Club and was a member of the church Altar Guild. She was a member of the Leisure Club at Bethany United Church of Christ, the Union Lutheran Seniors Bingo, and St. James Lutheran Church Senior Group. She was the founder of York County Muscular Dystrophy Association. Mrs. Hoke leaves two daughters, Jane A. Markel and her husband James of West York, Dolores F. Corolla of Florida; a son, Bryan C. Hoke, Sr. and his wife Judy of York; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a great, great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Joyce Hoke and Jolene Hoke. Memorial contributions may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association, 3300 East Sunrise Drive, Tuscan, AZ 85718 and St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 839 West Market Street, York, PA 17404.
