DOVER – Jesse Earl Baker, 82, passed away Friday, May 20, 2011 at his home. He was the loving husband of Mary Esther (Strohminger) Baker to whom he was married for 59 years. Services will be private at the request of the family. Please contact the family for further information. Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Baker was born March 20, 1929 in Baltimore, Md, a son of the late Jesse Sylvester and Louise Catherine (Hoffman) Baker. He was a former employee of Bendix Radio in Towson, Md and he recently worked for ACCO as a mechanical designer until his retirement in 1994. Mr. Baker enjoyed having breakfast often at the Route 74 Restaurant in Dover. He was a very skilled mechanic who enjoyed his work. Mr. Baker proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. In addition to his wife, Mr. Baker is survived by two daughters, Mary L. Houck and husband Rick of York, and Patricia A. Baker of Port Royal; four grandchildren, Mandy Nalbandian and husband Kyle of York, Kelly Rutledge and husband Brent of York, Jacob Slyder III and companion Stacia Zutell of Washingtonville, and Jessica Keller and husband Dustin of Mt. Holly; six great-grandchildren, Aidin and Grahm Keller, Elayna and Vivienne Slyder, and Evan and Addison Rutledge. Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his son, Robert Earl Baker and a grandson, Jason Allen Eimerbrink. In memory of Mr. Baker, memorial contributions may be made to: The Alzheimer’s Association, P.O.
