RED LION– Jennifer A. (Winnick) Shingler, 70, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at York Hospital. She was the wife of William P. Shingler. The couple celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on September 22, 2016. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, January 23, 2017 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, with a viewing from 9:00-11:00AM. Pastor Ed Robbins, of Grace Lutheran Church, Red Lion will be officiating at the service. Born October 18, 1946 in Rockhill Furnace, Huntingdon County, a daughter of the late Howard V. and Anna D. (Rogers) Winnick, she was a graduate of Pronto S. Beauty School in Altoona. She retired after nine years from the House of Windsor Cigar Factory. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, they were her love and hobby. Jennifer attended Grace Lutheran Church in Red Lion. In addition to her beloved husband, Mrs. Shingler is survived by her two daughters and son, Tracy L. Smith and husband, Delane of York, William P. Shingler, Jr. and companion, Rhodia Jackson of Red Lion, and Jana L. Shingler of Red Lion; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Sharon Hlavaty and husband, Michael of Cleona, and Denece Kemp and husband, Terence of Columbus, OH; two sister-in-laws, Peggy Colyer of Carlisle and Shirley L. Wolfe of Elizabethtown; brother-in-law, James Brown; numerous nieces and nephews, and many good friends. She was proceeded in death by her grandson, Alex Shingler; brother, Ron Colyer; and sister, Sylvia Brown. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.
