Jennie A. Ostrosky

Pottsville-Jennie A. Ostrosky, 83, of Pottsville, passed away Monday morning at her residence. Born on May 11, 1927 she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Buscavage Gibbas. Jennie attended Port Carbon schools. She worked in the local garment industry for many years. She retired from the Good Samaritan Hospital where she worked in housekeeping. Jennie was a dedicated mother whose main priority was taking care of her family, even at an early age when she took care of her siblings. She was a member of the former Mary Queen of Peace Church, Pottsville. Most recently, she was a member of Saint Patrick's Church, Pottsville. Jennie was preceded in death by her husband, Leo J. Ostrosky, who passed away December 18, 1996; her two brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Janet Ostrosky, Pottsville; her two sons, Leo E. Ostrosky, husband of Diane "Dee", of Orwigsburg, and Robert S. Ostrosky, of Moscow, PA; her three grandchildren, Eric, Todd, and Krista; her four Great grandchildren; her sister Catherine Krepps, of Orwigsburg; her brother, Eugene Gibbas, husband of Angie, of Norristown, PA; several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 10:00 A.M. at Saint Patrick's Church, 400 Mahantongo Street, Pottsville. Friends may call on Thursday morning from 8:30 A.M. until 9:30 A.M. at Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., 6th & West Market Streets, Pottsville. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Hillside, Pottsville. In Lieu of flowers, Jennie's wishes were that any monetary donations be given to the Salvation Army, 400 Sanderson Street, Pottsville, PA 17901, to brighten someone's holiday season.
