Lewisberry—Jeffrey Ray Peffer, 67, passed away, Friday, December 16, 2016 at his residence in Fairview Township. He was the husband of Judy A. (McCollam) Peffer to whom he was married for 45 years. A Celebration of Life Service was held privately by the family. Beaver Urich Funeral Home, Inc., 305 W. Front Street, Lewisberry is in charge of arrangements. Born October 15, 1949 in Harrisburg, he was a son of the late Lee V. and Jessie E. (McClure) Peffer. A 1967 graduate of Red Land High School, he also earned two degrees from Pennsylvania State University. In 1971 he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Ground Water Geology and in 1980 received his Master’s Degree in Engineering. He started working as a Geologist for the Department of Environmental Recourses. He ran Peffer GeoTechnical Inc., a company he founded and ran for the majority of his career. He later began working with Susquehanna River Basin Commission until his retirement in 2010. Jeff served in the United States Naval Reserves and was also an Eagle Scout. In addition to his wife, Jeff is also survived by one son, Clay A. Peffer and his wife, Elizabeth; four grandchildren, Michael, Madeline, Caitlyn and Matthew; brother-in-law, Joe McCollam and his wife, Becky and extended family. He was preceded in death by twin brothers, Paul M. and Ronald L. Peffer.
