WILKES-BARRE-Jeffrey A. “Woody” Woodworth, 52, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2014. Born in Wilkes-Barre on December 21 1961, he was the son of William Woodworth of Wilkes-Barre and the late Barbara Jean (Ecker) Woodworth. He was a 1980 graduate of E.L. Meyers High School and Luzerne County Community College. He was a licensed HVAC Technician and was employed at Misericordia University in the HVAC –Facilities Department. He was previously employed by C.W. Schultz and Son for over 18 years and prior to that he had worked at Abe’s Hot Dogs on Barney Street. Woody was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Wilkes-Barre where he was very active in church activities. He was currently the Council President and had served many years in the capacity of both president and vice president. He was also a member of the church bowling league. He was the president of 52 Acres, Inc. He participated in Babe Ruth Baseball League where he served as a coach for his son’s teams. He also served as coach for his son’s teams at the Kingston Recreation Indoor soccer. He was active with Skyhawks Soccer. He was a committee member of Cub Scouts Pack 55, Firwood United Methodist Church, Wilkes-Barre. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone. In addition to his father, William Woodworth, he is survived by his wife of 13 years, the former Lisa M. Randazzo; his sons, Joshua Michael and Saul William Louis, both at home; his sisters, Alice Weghorst and her husband, Dean, Wilkes-Barre; donna Namey and her husband, George, Newark Delaware; step-mother Barbara ( William) Woodworth; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 410 S. River Street, Wilkes-Barre with Pastor Peter Kuritz, Pastor Janell Wiggen and Pastor Robert Sauers officiating. Friends may call Saturday from 12:00 til 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or 52 Acres, 410 S. River Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kniffen O’Malley Funeral Home, 465 S. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre.
