Jeane L. (Guiles) Barr

Jeane L. (Guiles) Barr, 85, of Chemung, NY, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of the late Grover B. Barr, who passed away on April 7, 1999. The couple had 57 happy years together. The memorial service to honor Jeane's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at the Chemung United Methodist Church, 5369 Main St Chemung, NY with her pastor, Rev. Dan Burgess, officiating. Burial will be in Chemung Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street Wellsburg, NY, has been entrusted with the arrangements. Jeane was born on March 7, 1924 in Elmira, NY, daughter of the late Lee and Violet (Cuer) Guiles. She was the supervisor of the bus garage for the Waverly School District. She was a member of the Chemung United Methodist Church and the Home Bureau. The love of Jeane's life was her husband, family and friends. Jeane is survived by her son Brian K. (Felicia) Barr of Elmira, her daughters: Carol (Frank) Webster of Spring Hope, NC, Debbie (Chris) Gallagher of Waverly, NY, and Linda (Robert) Wilson of Danby, NY, eleven grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. Jeane was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Grover, and her sisters: Evelyn Cook, Bernice Tuttle, and Gladys LaVelle-Gannon.
