Jean V. (Seger) Porschet

LEWISBURG - Jean V. (Seger) Porschet, 68, died Saturday, September 12, 2015 at her residence. She was born on November 16, 1946 in Grampian and was the daughter of the late H. Bert and Louella M. (Mahlon) Seger. On June 06, 1964, Jean married the love of her life, Clayton S. Porschet, Jr., who survives and they celebrated 51 years of marriage together this year. Jean worked for various local doctors as a secretary and retired from Giant Foods. She was a member of Winfield Baptist Church, Winfield where teaching Sunday school was her greatest pleasure. Jean loved gardening and flowers, sewing, reading and earlier in life she participated with Brownies, Cub Scouts and the Montandon Midget League baseball. In addition to her husband Clayton, Jean is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; Steve and Kay Porschet of Milton, one daughter and son-in-law; Shellie and Ray Weller of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, four grandchildren; Tressa and her husband Julian Schramp of Lewisburg, Ashley Porschet of Milton and Christopher Weller and Katie Weller both of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, one brother and sister-in-law; Jim and Eunice Seger of Grampian and two sisters and one brother-in-law; Dalma London of Grampian and Sharon and Robert Fiegel of Manteo North Carolina, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by one son; Clayton S. Porschet, III and two brothers; Samuel and Richard Seger. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Winfield Baptist Church Missionaries, 330 PA-304, Winfield, PA 17889 or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 A public viewing will be held 6:00-8:00p.m., Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at the Winfield Baptist Church, 330 PA-304, Winfield, PA 17889. A gathering of family and friends will be held 10:00-11:00a.m., Thursday, September 17, 2015 at the church followed by the funeral at 11:00a.m. with Pastor Corey Mitchell officiating. A private family burial will follow in Montandon Cemetery, Montandon. Arrangements are being handled by The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front Street, Milton, PA 17847.
