HERSHEY- Jean Ruth (Cornman) Soltis, 92, passed away Monday, May 9, 2011 at Hershey Medical Center. She was the loving wife of the late Albert B. Soltis to whom she was married 20 years. A celebration of life service will be 1 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2011 at Beaver-Urich Funeral Home, Inc., 305 West Front Street, Lewisberry, with pastor Layne Lebo officiating. A viewing will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery, Mt. Holly. Born on April 21, 1919 in Harrisburg, a daughter of the late Wilbert and Alberta (Lookenbill) Cornman, she was a graduate of John Harris High School, Harrisburg. Mrs. Soltis was a former employee of Reeds Bakery for many years; and Pomeroys Department Store until her retirement. She was a proud member of the Hershey Plaza Singers. She enjoyed playing bingo and po-ke-no in her free time. She was an avid Philadelphia Phillys fan, and enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State Football as well. Mrs. Soltis is survived by a son, Daniel A. Soltis and wife, Pamella A. of Lewisberry; two daughters, Dorothy J. Kulha of Hummelstown, and Sally A. DeVore and husband, Joseph of British Columbia; three grandchildren, Jeremy B. Soltis of Lewisberry, Jody DeVore of Memphis, TN, and Susan Fiss and husband, William of British Columbia; three great grandchildren; many great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Donald Cornman; and a sister, Marie Huber.
