Jean D. McLaughlin

LOGANVILLE- Jean D. (Markle) McLaughlin, 95, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Clarence K. McLaughlin, Jr.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at Salem Christian Church, 24 Franklin Street in Jacobus, with a viewing from 10-11 a.m. The service will be webcast live and can be viewed by searching Jean’s obituary at HeffnerCare.com The Reverend Kevin L. Becker will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Mrs. McLaughlin was born in North Codorus Township on January 15, 1930, the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Rosa I. (Folkenroth) Markle. 

Mrs. McLaughlin was a member of the former Loganville United Methodist Church. She was active in the Loganville and Springfield Senior Centers, enjoyed reading, and most important of all was spending time with her family.

Mrs. McLaughlin leaves three daughters, Debra Folkenroth of Manchester, Sharon Schaale of Loganville, and Shelly Strobaugh (Terry) of Pennsburg; four grandchildren, Shawn Folkenroth (Jamie), Chad Folkenroth (Jodie), Jeremy Schaale (Allyson), and Heather Bupp (Jonathan); seven great grandchildren, Cody Folkenroth (Erica), Austin Folkenroth (Victoria), Ryan, Kenneth, and Bradley Folkenroth, Charlotte and Meredith Bupp, and a great, great granddaughter, Miss Alivia Folkenroth. She also leaves three brothers, Ray Markle, Lavern “Bob” Markle and his wife Norma, and Lynn Markle and his wife Gloria; a sister, Doris Goodling; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Jay, Lavere “Bud”, Barry, and Carson Markle and two sisters, Evelyn and Miriam Thoman.
