Jean Marian Douglass

Dover – Jean M. Douglass, 97, passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021 at the Victorian Villa, Dallastown, PA. She was the wife of the late John C. Douglass to whom she married on March 26, 1944, and together shared 72 years until John passed away on October 30, 2016. Jean was born January 8, 1924 in York, a daughter of the late Earl and Carrie (Rahe) Ferree. Jean retired from Dover Area School District and was a member of Salem Lutheran Church of Dover. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, crocheting and spending time with her family. Mrs. Douglass is survived by a son, Stephen J. Douglass and wife, Mary Ellen of York; a daughter, Kimberley D. Mann and husband, Cris of State College;. Jean was a very proud Grandma to three grandchildren, Rachel Douglass, John “Jack” Douglass and Alec Mann. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Neta Kerchner, Dorcas Albrecht, Gloria Baugher; and two brothers, Arthur Ferree and Leon Ferree. Private burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
