Jean E. Snyder

YORK—Jean E. (Swartz) Snyder, 74, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022 at UPMC-Harrisburg. A Gathering of Friends and Family for a time to share memories will be held from 1-3PM, Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Born May 14, 1947 in Mount Wolf, she was a daughter of the late Stewart L. and June F. (Stough) Plunkert. She was a 1965 graduate of West York High School. She was employed with J.E. Baker as a computer programmer for 20 plus years until her retirement in 2007. An eager and gifted cook, she also cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and for many years loved taking trips to the beach. She was a member of American Business Women’s Association-Forge Hill Chapter. Mrs. Snyder is survived by two sons, Bret A. Snyder and wife, Danielle of Manchester and William P. Snyder and wife, Karen of Dover; two grandchildren, Lance M. Snyder of Carlisle and Dalton R. Snyder of Manchester; one great grandson, Elijah D. Snyder of Dover; brother, Gary F. Straley of Delaware; one sister, Janet F. Arendt of York and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Keith L., Lynn S., and Joel E. Straley.
