Jean C. Persson

York- Jean C. (Craumer) Persson, 82, died Wednesday, August 15, 2007. She was the wife of Ralph B. Persson. A memorial tribute service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 839 W. Market St.,York with the Rev. Kevin T. Shively officiating. A private burial will be in Lewisburg Cemetery, Union Co. Mrs. Persson was born January 3, 1925 in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Luther E. and Pearl E. (Chronister) Craumer. A graduate of the Penn State University, she became employed with the Penn State Extension Service. A member of Penn State Alumni Association, she also belonged to the Scatter Women's Group, Penn State Extension Service. Mrs. Persson was a Home Economics teacher first with Shamokin Area School District and later with the West York School District for 31 years and later joined the Retired Teachers Club. A life Member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, she organized the daycare and was a cook at the church. Mrs. Persson was a member with the Lutheran Church Women group, the College Club of York, Women's Club of York, Shiloh Garden Club, and the Colonial Doll Club. In addition to her husband, Ralph, Mrs. Persson is survived by one son, Richard C. and his wife Brenda Persson of WI; one daughter, Susan P. and her husband Art Kress of Lancaster; five grandchildren; two brothers, William and Robert Craumer. A brother, Luther Craumer precedes her in death. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 839 W. Market St., York, PA 17401.
