POTTSVILLE- Jean A. Weismiller, RN, 85, of Pottsville, passed away Tuesday at her daughter's residence in Pottsville. Born in Heckshersville on November 26, 1924, she was a daughter of the late John and Lillian Scully Maley. Jean was a 1942 graduate of Cass Twp. High school. She graduated from Hahneman Nursing school in Philadelphia as a registered nurse. Following nursing school, Jean volunteered as a cadet nurse during World War II, for the former Army Hospital, presently known as Greenbriar Resort in West Virginia. After the war, she returned to Pottsville where she worked for the Good Samaritan Hospital as an RN for 35 years until she retired. Jean was a member of St. Patrick's Church and its Senior Citizen's Group. She was also a member of the Good Samaritan retirees association. Mom's precious heart and giving spirit will continue on in the lives of her children and grandchildren. She gave her selfless love freely and cared tenderly and sincerely for all. We love you Mom, Grammy, always. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. "Bop" Weismiller, who passed away March 25, 2007; her brother Jack Maley. She is survived by her daughters, Jane Yeasted, wife of Jerome, of Pottsville and Judy Weiss, wife of Glenn, of Oceanside, CA; her son, Mark Weismiller, husband of Linda, of Mahwah, NJ; her 9 grandchildren, Dr. Nathan and Lauren Yeasted, Bethany and Don Dufour, Sarah Yeasted, Daniel Yeasted, Ryan and Kevin Weiss, and Melanie, Scott and Julie Weismiller; her brother, James Maley, husband of Florence, of Pottsville; several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 10:00 A.M. at St. Patrick's Church, 4th & Mahantongo Sts., Pottsville. Friends may call on Saturday morning from 9:00 A.M. until time of Mass at the church. Private interment will be held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital, c/o Office of University Development, PO Box 852, Hershey, PA 17033. Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., Pottsville is in charge of arrangements.
