Jay R. Buck, Sr.

Jay R. Buck, Sr., 88, of Milton died Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Geisinger Home Health and Hospice at Maria Hall, Danville. He was born on April 4, 1929 in Allenwood and was the son of the late Guy M. and Willmina M. (Rorick) Buck. On May 25, 1953 Jay married the former JoAnn A. (Showers), who survives and they celebrated 64 years of marriage together this year. Jay served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War Conflict. He was a graduate of the Milton Area High School Class of 1948. Jay was a lifetime farmer and worked for Philco Corp. for 31 years and retired in 1982. He enjoyed gardening and sports. In addition to his wife JoAnn, Jay is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law; Jay R. and Leslie Buck, Jr. of Milton, Gary L. and Laurie Buck of Northumberland, Scott A. and Peggy Buck of Milton and David A. and Valerie Bieber of Milton, ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Jay was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Geisinger Home Health and Hospice at Maria Hall, Geisinger Home Health & Hospice, 410 Glenn Ave., Suite 200, Bloomsburg, PA 17815 All services for Jay will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Uniontown Cemetery, Allenwood. Arrangements are being handled by Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Care, 125 North Front Street, Milton.
