Jason John Parkin

York—Jason John Parkin, 40, died suddenly Monday, August 18, 2014 of a subarachnoid hemorrhage at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center in Mobile, Alabama. A Celebration of Life Service will be 8 PM, Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York with Certified Celebrant Betty Frey officiating. A viewing will be held from 6-8 PM, Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Born March 14, 1974 in York, he was a son of Jane M. (Patterson) Parkin and the late John W. Parkin. He was a 1992 graduate of Spring Grove High School and later graduated from ITT Technical Institute with a degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. He was employed with BAE Systems as an engineering technician for last several years. An avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, he also enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing and was a member of the United States Bowling Congress. What he loved the most was spending time with his family, especially his sons, Dylan and Dawson. Jason is survived by his two sons, Dylan A. and Dawson I.; two sisters, Daphne M. Adams and her husband, Cameron of York and Heather D. Forry and her husband, Kevin of York, his zing, Erin R. O’Dell of York and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Jason Parkin Memorial Educational Fund. Donations may be mailed to or dropped off at Susquehanna Bank Branch.
