Janice Elizabeth Burns

WILKES-BARRE-Janice Elizabeth Burns, 50, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Monday, August 16, 2010 at her home. Born in Wilkes-Barre on September 26, 1959, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Elizabeth Burns. Janice graduated from Coughlin High School and was a member of Our Lady of Hope Parrish. She enjoyed babysitting for her nieces and nephews and spending time with her dog, Tipsy. Janice is survived by brothers, Carl Burns and wife, Ginger, Sweet Valley; Edward Burns and wife, Nancy, Bensalem; sisters, Joan Dougalas and husband, Daniel, Wilkes-Barre; Judy Heller and husband, Jim, Sweet Valley; nieces, Danielle Dougalas, Elizabeth and Sarah Heller; nephews, C.J., Eddie and Mike Burns, Matthew and Mark Dougalas, and James and John Heller; and a great nephew, Zachary Dougalas. The funeral will be held Thursday at 9:00 a.m. from Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 S. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Parrish, 40 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre. The Reverend Theodore L. Obaza will officiate. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Bear Creek. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
