Janice D. Beckmeyer

YORK- Janice D. (Lutzinger) Beckmeyer, 81, of West Manchester Township, died Sunday, March 19, 2017 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Richard E. Beckmeyer. A celebration of life service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York. Viewings will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA. Mrs. Beckmeyer was born in York on August 6, 1935, the daughter of the late Guy “Dick” and Mary E. (Frey) Lutzinger. She retired in 2012 from the Recorder of Deeds office in York County, where she worked as a clerk. Prior to that she worked for Danskin in York as a manager and also worked part time for many years for Donald A, Bricker's French Fries. Mrs. Beckmeyer was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in York and was a life member of York VFW Post 556, Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Beckmeyer leaves three daughters, Carol E. Montony and her husband Steve of York, Cheryl A. Ryan and her husband, Michael of Lewes, DE, and Cathy L. Krout and her husband Greg of York; six grandchildren, Stephen Montony, Andrea Finnegan, twin granddaughters, Adrienne Lerro, Courtney Montony, Joshua Miller, and Sarah Herman; five great grandchildren, Elliott, Leo, James, Crosby, and Indie. She also leaves a twin brother, Jan Lutzinger and his wife, Lucy; two twin sisters, Jean Stouffer and her husband Ivan and Joan King and her husband, Ron and numerous nieces and nephews.
