RED LION – Janet Rebecca (Smith) Knisely, 84, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at her home. She was the wife of the late Carl D. Knisely. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with Rev. Kathy Harvey Nelson officiating. A viewing will be held from 10-11:00 AM Saturday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bethlehem Stonepile U.M. Cemetery. Born January 1, 1928 in York County, a daughter of the late Mervin C. and Sadie P. (Tome) Smith, she was a 1946 graduate of Red Lion Area High School. Mrs. Knisely began her career as a seamstress in local sewing factories and later worked and retired as business administrator with her husband’s business, W.E. Knisely & Sons. Following her retirement, she was a greeter at both Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club. Mrs. Knisely was a member of Emanuel Christian Fellowship. She will always be remembered as a doting mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Mrs. Knisely is survived by a son, Jeffrey C. and wife Emma Knisely of Red Lion; three daughters, Trudy L. and husband Robert Shaffer of Red Lion, Lisa L. Knisely of Loveland, CO, and Cindy L. and husband David Devereaux of Palestine, TX; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Shaffer) Lopez, Amanda Shaffer, Aaron and Seth Knisely, Andrew and Caleb Bentzel; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Gerald T. Smith of Tulsa, OK and Mervin C. Smith of Red Lion; and a sister, Leola C. Nace of York.
