RED LION – Janet (Monihen) Isett, 75, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015 at York Hospital. She was the wife of Dr. James M. Isett with whom she was married for 55 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, March 2, 2015 at Grace Lutheran Church, 220 N. Charles Street, Red Lion with her pastor, The Rev. Tina M. Melusky officiating. Viewings will be held from 4-6:00 PM Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion and from 9-10:00 AM Monday at the Church. Burial will be in Pleasant View Church of the Brethren Cemetery. Born November 30, 1939 in Huntingdon, PA a daughter of the late James Harper and Betty (Burkholder) Monihen, she was a 1957 graduate of Huntingdon High School. Janet had worked as a pharmacy assistant in Pittsburgh as a young adult. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Colonial York Knitters Guild, and previously with the Knit Wits at Kaltreider-Benfer Library. Mrs. Isett was an avid knitter and crafted scarves for family and friends, and caps for mission trips and veterans groups. She also enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and had been a scout leader with Girl Scouts of America. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Isett is survived by two daughters, Nancy L. and husband Philip Palandro of York and Dr. Laurie Isett Wise and husband Dale T. Wise, II of Seven Valleys; a son, Dr. James D. and wife Amber Isett of York; six grandchildren, Brenna, Matthew, and Maura Palandro, Dalton and Darin Wise, and Chloe Isett; one great granddaughter, Lucia Rose; and a brother, Terry Monihen of Manhattan, KS. She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Monihen. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 220 N. Charles St., Red Lion, PA 17356.
