Janet was born August 22, 1924 in Windsor Twp., a daughter of the late Solomon S. and Estella M. (Roth) Stabley. She attended the Yoe School and graduated from Red Lion High School. She worked at Western Union during World War II and later at the Red Lion Woodcraft. Janet also worked as a secretary for over 25 years at the First Union Bank on the Red Lion Square where she is remembered by many as the person whose warm and friendly smile greeted them from her desk at the door. Janet was active with Girl Scouts of America and a member of Temple Baptist Church. Janet had a strong and abiding faith and was often found sitting quietly reading her Bible and praying. She was a kind, gentle, and generous person who always put others before herself. Janet was devoted to her family and brought out the best in those she loved by providing never-ending support, praise, and encouragement. Her daughter and granddaughters learned many life-lessons as they observed the example she set in living her daily life. Janet is survived by a daughter, Sandra A.
