Janet L. (Urey) Overmiller

Janet L. (Urey) Overmiller, 92, died on Monday, April 13, 2021 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Robert H. Overmiller to whom she was married for 54 years until his passing. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, services for Mrs. Overmiller will be private at the convenience of the family. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Born on February 3, 1929 at home in Airville, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Pauline (Reynolds) Urey. Janet worked at various cigar factories and furniture stores over the years in the Red Lion area. Mrs. Overmiller was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church in Felton. Janet enjoyed gambling, especially scratch off tickets, traveling to the casinos and playing BINGO. She also loved listening to and watching the Baltimore Orioles and football, cooking and listening to Blue Grass music. Mrs. Overmiller is survived by three sons, Keith Overmiller and his wife, Wendy of York, Kevin Overmiller and his wife, Elaine of Red Lion and Brian Overmiller and his wife, Jody Seitz of Felton; daughter, Kathy Seaks of Felton; 16 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two brothers, John Urey of Airville and Roy Urey of Ft. Pierce, FL; and three sisters, Mary Lou Scott and her husband, Bill of Red Lion, Betty Fantom of Brogue and Hattie Urey of Red Lion. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Urey; daughter, Jane Enfield; grandsons, James Enfield and Derrik Overmiller; and two brothers, Melvin Urey and Harry Urey.
