Janet L. (Mayhue) Sprenkle

YORK - Janet L. [Mayhue] Sprenkle, 78, died Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Lyle D. "Bud" Sprenkle. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, March 3, 2008 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 45 First Avenue, Red Lion with her pastor, the Rev. Paul C. Murphy officiating. A gathering of friends and family will take place immediately following the tribute service in the Church fellowship hall. Burial will be held at 9:00 AM Monday, March 3, 2008 in Shenberger Chapel Cemetery, Chapel Church Rd., near New Bridgeville. Born July 9, 1929 in Altoona, PA a daughter of the late Clarence Ray and Lillian E. (Ryan)Mayhue, she had worked for the late Dr. Fisher in York, was a home health aide with VNA Hospice, and a dedicated homemaker. Mrs. Sprenkle adored her family and grandchildren, was an avid reader, and enjoyed working on puzzles. She was a member of St. Paul U.M. Church. Mrs. Sprenkle is survived by a son, David B. Sprenkle of Lanoka Harbor, NJ; three daughters, Kathy L. and husband Robert Shaub of York, Beth S. Rentzel of Dallastown, and Davelyn S. and husband Brian Smeltzer of York; five grandchildren, Daniel and Laura Shaub, Jared Grove, and Collin and Evan Smeltzer. She was preceded in death by a son, Herbert Dodson and one brother and one sister. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice Services, 218 E.
