Janet 'Jacky' C. Norris

POTTSVILLE- Janet “Jacky” C. Norris, 70, of Pottsville, passed away Monday afternoon at home. Born in New Philadelphia on January 6, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Adam A. and Elizabeth E. Pollack Smoluk. Jacky was a 1960 graduate of Pottsville High School and a 1983 graduate of Pottsville School of nursing where she received her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Jacky worked as an LPN at the Pottsville Hospital for over 20 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of Saint Patrick’s Church, Pottsville. Jacky enjoyed spending as much time as possible with her entire family, especially her grandchildren, Ben and Josh and her cat, Tigger. In addition to her parents, Jacky was preceded in death by her brother, George Smoluk. Jacky is survived by her daughter, Kimberly A. Norris, of Pottsville; her son, Mark A. Norris, husband of Maria, of Pottsville; her two grandsons, Benjamin and Joshua Norris; her five sisters, Anna Mae Conley, of San Antonio, TX, Veronica Smoluk and Christine Arnold, both of Bellmawr, NJ, Joann Baron, of Pottsville and Barbara Lehan, wife of Walter, of Harrisburg, PA; her brother, Adam Smoluk, husband of Helen, of Statesville, NC; several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Patrick’s Church, 4th & Mahantongo Sts., Pottsville. Father John Little will officiate. There will be no calling hours. Private Inurnment will be held in Our Lady of Calvary Chapel Columbarium. Memorial contributions can be sent to the Hillside SPCA, Hillside Road, Pottsville, PA 17901.
