LEWISBERRY - Janet Grace (Eichenlaub) Rafferty, 83, of Fairview Twp., passed away peacefully at 7:35 a.m. Monday, January 14, 2008, at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, John F. "Jack" Rafferty on May 16, 2000. Mrs. Rafferty was born July 1, 1924, in Altoona, Blair County. She was the daughter of the late David Lloyd and Evelyn Marie (Bathurst) Eichenlaub and was also preceded in death by a brother, William "Babe" Eichenlaub. She was a member of St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church; the Red Land Senior Center; The Golden Age Club of New Cumberland; The Red Land Red Hat Society; and attended Bible Studies at Wyndemere Evangelical Congregational Church. She also volunteered to deliver "Meals on Wheels" and served at many functions held at the Senior Center. She was a loving homemaker and leaves her three daughters, Janet M. Rafferty of New Cumberland, Patricia R. Hoover and husband, Douglas of Harrisburg, and Kathryn L. Donley of Flower Mound, TX; her son, John R. Rafferty and wife, Karen of Mechanicsburg; five grandchildren, Mark Turner of Etters, Lisa Stiely of Lewisberry, Patrick Turner of Lemoyne, Molly Turner of Harrisburg, Michael Hoover of Belton, SC; and 11 great grandchildren. Viewing will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Beaver Urich Funeral Home, 305 W. Front St., Lewisberry with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Lebanon County. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Keith Searfoss, Spiritual Care Coordinator with Odyssey Health Care. Memorial contributions may be made to Odyssey Health Care, 4660 Trindle Rd., Suite 204, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
