Jane M. (Steinhauer) Joseph

YORK- Jane M. (Steinhauer) Joseph, 87, passed away Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017 at Country Meadows. She was the wife of the late Rodney Joseph, Sr. who passed away in 2014 after celebrating 62 years of marriage. Born on October 29, 1929 in Canton, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Jane (Loughran) Steinhauer. Jane graduated from West York Sr. High School in 1947. She was employed at Jay’s Markets, Inc. on Maryland Ave and retired from McDonnell Douglas Truck Services in 1992. Jane was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, the Women’s International Bowling congress and participated in card club. She was an avid reader and enjoyed puzzles. Most importantly, Jane’s priority was always her family, taking pride in having raised five sons. Survivors include sons, Rodney E. Jr. and his wife Alesa; Randy and his wife Linda; Richard and his wife Lori, Chris and Kevin. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Jane also leaves a sister Jean Wagner and brother Joseph Steinhauer. She was preceded in death by a sister Joan Boose. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 140 N. Beaver St. York, Pa with The Reverend Canon David Lovelace officiating. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in the church memorial garden immediately after the service. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements.
